Although there are over 100 types of coffee shrubs, the two main berries commercialized (traded) are coffee Arabica and coffee Canephora (also known as Robusta) since they are more resistant to pest.
These evergreen shrubs bloom a white flower twice a year right after the rainy season, which, after few months produce a red berry almost like a cherry.
Each coffee shrub lives for about 12-15 years producing about 2 Kilograms of coffee beans per year.
